The book fair is going to an end two days before the 'universal lockdown'

'Amar Ekushey Book Fair' is coming to an end two days ahead of schedule. There has been talk of an 'all-out lockdown' across the country from April 14. For this reason, it has been decided to reduce the book fair by two days.

The book fair was scheduled to run till April 14.

Director General of Bangla Academy Habibullah Siraj said this in the first light. He said a decision has been taken to reduce the book fair by two days. Tomorrow will be officially announced.

The director general said a strict lockdown would be given from April 14. Publishers participating in the book fair need to move stalls and make time for ancillary work. For this reason, the book fair concluded two days ago. He said the matter has been discussed with State Minister for Culture KM Khalid. Bangla Academy agrees with this position of the Ministry.

Coronavirus is widespread in the country. The one-week ban is now in place. However, the book fair was going on.

The government has been preparing for an all-out or severe lockdown from April 14. Everything will be closed except for emergency services.
