Online shopping has grown to trillions of dollars worldwide

Most consumers around the world do not go out of the house because of coronavirus. So they have to buy everything from groceries to garden items online. As a result, online retail spending has increased by an additional  about 1 trillion last year. This information has been highlighted in the latest 'Recovery Insights' report of MasterCard. This information has been informed in a notification from MasterCard in Bangladesh.

According to MasterCard, the coronavirus has led to an increase in purchases on websites and online marketplaces around the world. In this case, residents of countries like Italy and Saudi Arabia have made an average of 33 percent more purchases through e-commerce. Then there are countries like Russia and the United Kingdom. In addition, electronic payments have increased in the United States.

Meanwhile, MasterCard reports that 20 to 30 percent of new systems or initiatives involved in the digital sector could be sustainable.
