Amir in charge of JMB remanded for 7 days

Amir Rezaul Haque alias Reza alias Tanvir Mahmood alias Shihab Ahnaf, acting Amir of banned militant group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), has been granted a seven-day remand by a court. 

The accused was produced in court on Sunday in the case of anti-terrorism law filed at Bhatara police station and remanded for 10 days. SM Raisul Islam, inspector of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of the police, applied for remand. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam remanded the accused.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Rezaul Haque was arrested in a raid in the Badda police station area of ​​the capital. Rezaul Haque was involved in a series of bombings across the country in 2005. He was arrested that year in connection with a series of bombings and spent a long time in prison. After being released on bail in 2016, he became involved in organizational work again, according to investigation sources.
